A Water Bottle And Bottle Cage
Is An Absolute Neccessity


You are going to need a few water bottles and at least one bottle cage. The bottle cages mount on the frame and there are preexisting tapped holes and bolts for this purpose. The bottles come in different sizes but are usually the same diameter so they will fit in the cage.

Some bottles have a flip up dust cover which I love. If you ride off road especially you will get dirt on the nipple. With the dust cover you just flip it up to drink and down when you are finished.

I don't understand why they aren't all made this way since it makes so much sense.

It's best to wash your bottles by hand. If you do use a dishwasher you risk having the bottles warp just enough that you lose the seal under the lid and you could be wearing more water that you are drinking.

If you are planning to ride long distances, you may want to consider a backpack type hydration pack.
