A hybrid bicycle, sometimes referred to as a crossover, combines some of the best features of a road bike with some features from a mountain bike making it extremely versatile.

They use larger diameter wheels than a mountain bike but are designed to give the rider a much more upright riding position than a road bike.

Most riders find hybrid bikes easier on the back, butt, and hands than either a road or mountain bike which makes them a popular choice for commuting.
