A Good Bike Pump Can Save The Day When You Need It
A good bike pump makes a tire change a piece of cake. In the best of all worlds we would never get a flat tire but you have to be prepared, if, and when, you do.
The good news is many of these pumps are very small, and light-weight, and typically mount right on the bike frame.
The Topeak Mini Morph shown here is a mini pump with a air pressure gauge as well as a foot pad which is really clever. It will fill fat or skinny tires up to 160 PSI, comes with a frame mounting bracket, is only 10" long, and only weighs .37 lbs.
Another option is a mini pump that can be used as a pump or a CO2 inflator. But you do need to carry CO2 cartridges and they probably won't go above 80 PSI.
A word or caution: Do not leave it on your bike unattended. Thieves like them too much.
Floor pump designs have come a long way also and some of them have pretty clever designs with fold out foot pedals and built in air pressure gauges.
