Bicycle Lubricants Make A Huge Difference In Riding ComfortBicycle lubricants are a "must have" if you plan to ride for any distance. Like a lot of newbie riders I started out putting nothing but Vaseline on my butt to prevent chaffing, and it does help, but boy is it messy. I goes through your shorts and will leave a mess wherever you sit. I got wise to using a good lubricant, early on, and was delighted to find no mess and much improved riding comfort. And like they say “a little dab will do ya” so you don’t need to go overboard with the quantity. Just rub a little on where it hurts when you ride. (I don’t have to tell you where) and you are good to go. And remember don’t wear underwear under bike shorts. It just creates more chaffing. And, launder your shorts after every ride. I’ve tried several brands and settled on Chamois Butt’r but you might find another that suits you better. In any event, if you suffer at all from a sore butt when riding, a good lubricant is well worth trying.
